This article provides an overview of the relevant food traceability technologies available on the market and a description of their characteristics. In order to contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate technologies, the concepts and implications of traceability in the agri-food sector must be well understood by consumers. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the importance of traceability technologies in the agri-food sector.
