Abstract
The purpose of this paper was to study the concept of cyber range (CR). A systematized
theoretical presentation of the literature covering this topic was considered. A taxonomy for CRs systems and
functional architecture was presented, including technical content, types, classifications, features, utility. The
results of this study can be used as a basis for future initiatives in the development and evaluation of these tools in line with existing best practices.
