Abstract
The informational society poses a lot of new challenges, the phenomenon of disinformation being one of the most prominent maladies in our times. The rapid digitalization is changing the face of our social interactions and is also altering our manner to relate to reality. This article deals with the phenomenon of deep fake videos in connection with the digital era, its relation with the propagation of fake news, discussing the harmful consequences of its proliferation, without disregarding that this new technology has also beneficial applications.
